My wife and I first moved to El Dorado Hills in 2004. It seems like just yesterday but over eight years have flown bye. Just a simple look at some of the video that I shot of my daughter reminds me of how quickly time passes. I feel blessed to live in the digital age. With the simple click of a mouse I can relive a special moment from years ago.
A family is what you make it. When my wife and I moved back to Northern California eight years ago, we wanted to be closer to our family. My daughter was only four at the time and not yet enrolled in kindergarten. One of the truly great benefits of moving has been her ability to grow up with “The Cousins”. It was a term that my daughter coined for all of her family members that are even remotely close in age. The accuracy of her genealogy tree has never been the point. Sharing holidays, birthday parties, graduations and the rest has cemented in her mind that she is also one of “The Cousins”. I truly feel that it has given her a sense of place and continuity and has demonstrated that she is part of something larger than herself.
