According to real estate industry experts, over 90% of potential home buyers start their home search on the Internet. The growing question in real estate is how many are utilizing their phone/tablet instead of their desktop/laptop? To be fair, I would have to account for huge phone and tablet sales from other manufacturers in order to fully understand the scope of this movement. However, for purposes of this post, my focus is Apple and iOS.
Full disclosure: I am a huge fan of Apple and have owned an iPhone since it’s initial launch. I have purchased most of the new models as well as an iPad last summer. Real estate as a business is not that different than any other in regards to the Internet. In increasing numbers, buyers and sellers are coming together on-line.
Consider these statitstics published by ASYCMO regarding the explosive growth of Apple iOS devices.
Apple’s iOS runs on the iPhone, iPod, and iPad and essentially launced with the iPhone in 2007. To date, Apple has sold 316 million iOS devices, with 156 million being sold in 2011. WOW! The speed at which people are moving towards mobile devices blows my mind. So I will ask the question one more time:
Do you search for real estate with an Apple iOS device?
